I appreciate your purchase from my small business. I have always loved a simple cup of tea and a sweet treat in the evening as I unwind and reflect on my day. Our world is so fast paced that I feel we don't "stop and smell the roses" enough. What better way to take time for yourself than to learn how to properly brew and enjoy the relaxing fragrance and taste of a really good cup of tea. Our teas are sourced from my favourite Canadian supplier that I used when I had my little cafe called "Wellbean" in 2012. Over the years I have never forgotten about those flavourful teas and now that I am nearing retirement, I find that I still need a project....welcome to Norfolk Tea Company and welcome to your tea tasting adventure.
Do you remember your very first cup of tea? When I was a little girl, my Grandma Anderson made me tea in a fancy teacup and added a little sugar and a lot of milk to it. I though I was so grown up! When I was 12, I was served tea by my Great Aunt Edna in fine bone china in front of a fireplace in her very English drawing room in Vancouver. I remember the scene very distinctly. Again fast forward to age 18 when I worked in a small shop called "Coffee, Tea & Spice". I tasted many teas from around the world all the while getting high on coffee beans!! I also remember savouring a cup of tea while sitting in a restaurant in Kelowna B.C. with a special guy. We drank tea and we talked for hours....
I guess you could say I have always loved tea and that simple drink evokes many a fond memory for me. When my mom passed away, I inherited her fancy teacups. She had inherited many from her mother...I will be using them to showcase the loveliness of our teas. When I last counted I had also accumulated 14 teapots...I think I have a bit of an addiction!
So, all in all, I would say that having a tea shop has always been in the stars, but without the encouragement of my children and grandchildren, I may not have taken the plunge. My granddaughter designed our crown logo that has become our branding tool. The 'Norfolk' name comes from the avenue we live on in Coronation, a Royal town in Central Alberta. Their logo also encorporates a crown, so we thought it was only fitting. Love you guys to the moon and back!!
Thank you again for stopping....send a message if you wish and I will do my best to help you on your tea voyage. Stay tuned, the best is yet to be...
